Global Offshore Wind Alliance Launch during Cimate Week NYC

Denmark, IRENA and GWEC partner to launch the Global Offshore Wind Alliance (GOWA), and this week's event during the #ClimateWeekNYC was a huge success!

Very happy to participate and finally meet in person Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) CEO Ben Backwell and Global Head of Offshore Wind Rebecca Williams.

Also very pleased to meet Stig Pastwa with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, Laura Daniel Davis with the U.S. Department of the Interior, Tomas Anker Christensen, Climate Ambassador to Denmark, and Morten Dyrholm with Vestas.

The Global Offshore Wind Alliance, created by The Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities in Denmark, the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), and Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), sets a pathway to Net Zero by scaling up the world’s offshore wind capacity from 57 GW to 380 GW by 2030.

It will bring together governments that have already installed large amounts of offshore wind capacity with those just starting their journey, together with industry, investors, international institutions and other stakeholders to raise ambition, share critical knowledge and close the gap between targets and implementation.
